  • 4 slices bacon or ½ lb salt pork

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Soak the dried navy beans overnight in plenty of water.
  2. Drain and rinse the beans.
  3. Spray your slow cooker with nonstick spray; layer in the rinsed beans and chopped bacon or salt pork.
  4. Add chopped onions, brown sugar, molasses, ketchup, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper; stir gently to combine.
  5. Pour in enough water to cover the mixture by about an inch.
  6. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours until the beans are tender.
