  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, rinsed

  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth or water

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and transfer to the slow cooker.
  2. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in the same skillet until translucent and fragrant.
  3. In the slow cooker, combine browned beef, sautéed onions and garlic, diced tomatoes (with juices), kidney beans, black beans, cumin, chili powder, salt, pepper, and beef broth.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours.
