  • 34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (whole milk)
  • 1 cucumber, grated
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread (4 pieces)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and lemon juice to create the marinade.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over them. Seal and refrigerate for at least one hour or overnight.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to a slow cooker and pour any remaining marinade on top.
  4. Cook on low for 6 hours until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  5. For the tzatziki, combine Greek yogurt, grated cucumber (squeeze out excess water), minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl. Mix well.
  6. Shred the cooked chicken in the slow cooker and serve with warm pita bread topped generously with tzatziki sauce.
