Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef Opt for 80/20 or 85/15 for juiciness.
  • 2 large Eggs Acts as a binder.
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs Can be replaced with gluten-free breadcrumbs.
  • 1 small Onion (finely diced) Feel free to skip for a smoother texture.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Enhances flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper Provides seasoning for balance.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh minced garlic can be used.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce Rich umami flavor.

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup Chili Sauce Heinz Chili Sauce is recommended.
  • 1 cup Grape Jelly Can switch with apricot jam.
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley (freshly chopped) Optional garnish.

Cooking Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, diced onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce until just combined.
  • Form the mixture into 40-45 uniform 1-inch meatballs and place them on a foil-lined baking sheet.
  • Preheat your broiler to high and broil the meatballs for 8-10 minutes until cooked through.
  • In a saucepan, combine chili sauce and grape jelly over medium-low heat, stirring until smooth.
  • Transfer the broiled meatballs into a slow cooker, pour the sweet and sour sauce over them, and cook on low for 3 hours.
  • Serve warm on toothpicks or over rice, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.

Notes

Serve with steamed broccoli or green beans for added freshness.
