Ingredients

For the Beef

  • 1 each Beef Roast (Chuck Roast recommended) Provides rich, savory flavor; opt for chuck for maximum tenderness when slow-cooked.
  • 1 cup Salsa Adds moisture and enhances flavor; feel free to use your favorite bottled salsa or create a homemade mix!
  • 1 ounce Au Jus Mix Provides essential seasoning; can be substituted with homemade beef broth for a fresher taste.
  • 1.25 ounce Italian Salad Dressing Mix Enhances flavor; consider using Italian seasoning herbs for a self-made version.
  • 1.25 ounce Onion Soup Mix Adds a depth of flavor; dried onion flakes can work in a pinch.
  • 1 cup Water Hydrates the beef while cooking; chicken or beef broth can contribute extra flavor.

For the Sliders

  • 12 each King's Hawaiian Rolls Bring sweetness and soft textures; swap for any small soft dinner rolls if King's are unavailable.
  • 6 slices Swiss Cheese (halved) Melts beautifully on the sliders; feel free to try provolone or pepper jack for different flavor profiles!

For the Chipotle Sauce

  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream Forms the creamy base for the chipotle sauce; substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 2 tablespoons Chili Sauce Adds tanginess to the sauce; a mix of ketchup and spices can serve as a stand-in.
  • 2 teaspoons Creamy Horseradish Sauce Provides a warm kick; adjust to taste or swap with a mild spicy mayo for less heat.

Instructions

How to Make Roast Beef Sliders

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of water, 1 cup of salsa, 1 ounce of au jus mix, 1.25 ounces of Italian dressing mix, and 1.25 ounces of onion soup mix. Mix until well blended and set aside.
  • Place your chuck roast in the slow cooker and pour the prepared mixture over it. Cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
  • Once the roast is done, carefully shred the beef using two forks. Let it rest in its juices for optimal flavor and moisture.
  • In a separate bowl, combine 1/4 cup of sour cream, 2 tablespoons of chili sauce, and 2 teaspoons of creamy horseradish sauce. Stir until well combined, creating a zesty chipotle sauce.
  • While the sauce is resting, preheat your broiler. Slice the King's Hawaiian rolls in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet. Top with 6 slices of halved Swiss cheese.
  • Broil in the oven for about 1-2 minutes, watching closely until the cheese melts and the rolls are just golden brown.
  • Spoon the shredded beef onto the bottom halves of the rolls, drizzle with chipotle sauce, and cap them with the roll tops.
  • Enjoy your delicious sliders warm for the best taste and a delightful meal experience!

Notes

Optional: Garnish with sliced jalapeños for an extra kick! Leftover beef is ideal for sandwiches the next day—store in an airtight container for up to three days, then reheat and enjoy.
