How to Make Heart Shaped Cookie Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grab your heart-shaped cake pan and give it a good coat of non-stick spray.
  • Cream together softened unsalted butter and both sugars in a stand mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
  • Whisk together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and kosher salt in a separate bowl.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips, chunks, and M&M’s gently using a wooden spoon.
  • Press the dough into your prepared heart-shaped pan evenly, and sprinkle the top with heart-shaped sprinkles.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the edges are light golden brown and the center is slightly soft.
  • For the frosting, beat together unsalted butter until smooth, then gradually add powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream, and a splash of vanilla.
  • Pipe the frosting onto your cooled cookie cake and get creative with additional sprinkles on top.

Notes

Optional: Try adding a drizzle of chocolate ganache for an extra touch.
